See Prime, a Pakistani digital platform recently released Ab Buss, a short film directed by Mohsin Talat starring Sanam Saeed. The thriller takes inspiration from the horrible Lahore Motorway gang rape that took place earlier this year.

She knows she’s done it before and she can do it again – Maya packs for an unexpected trip as she gets a phone call,” read the caption of the trailer shared on social media.

The short film send out a message that being a woman, surviving in this ‘man’s world’ is no less than going on a war. “I read the script and thought it was a really smart way of getting the point across,” shared Sanam who has been extremely vocal about the Lahore Motorway gang rape case. The actor has often questioned the authorities and demanded justice. “Why??? Why does the system fail us… Why do rapists roam freely???” she had earlier tweeted.

“The film was originally titled something else but the producers felt it gave away the story too much. So now it’s called Ab Buss – highlighting the threshold limit of the situation,” Sanam said in an exclusive chat with Something Haute before the release of the film.

“I think there is more room for expression and freedom to create different kinds of content. Digital platforms offer (almost) unlimited opportunities,” confessed the actor while speaking of the rise in content being released digitally.

While we don’t want to give away too much, we’ll have to say that the short film was very well executed. It managed to create the impact it aimed to create. Sanam, like always, manages to give a phenomenal performance and impress the audience.
