After Marvel has done great business in India with Avengers Infinity War and Black Panther, the company now has plans to thank their Indian fan base – and what’s a better way to please than to cast a Bollywood actor?

Speaking to Indian Express, Stephen Wacker (VP, Creative Development, Marvel), said, “I think in the next few years Marvel is going to try to create characters with a real toehold in Indian culture. Try for authenticity that can go as far as finding Indian talent. We want to find a way to create characters that have a home in this world so we can bring Indian culture to the core North American Marvel fan. Let them understand a different part of the world too. I think that’s going to be an exciting thing for Marvel. My hope is that the fan in India feels just as much part of the Marvel universe as some kid in New York.”

When pushed about who they’d cast, he said, “If we make Indian content, we have to put Shah Rukh Khan. He has to be in it.”

Shah Rukh Khan has already played a superhero in Ra.One and it would be a whole new level of cool if he stars as a Marvel superhero was actually true! However, the Baadshah of Bollywood earlier joked that he’ll never debut in Hollywood, as he feels his English is a ‘little weak.’

He also stated that he wishes to see Hollywood actors make an entry in Bollywood instead.

“My own attempt is to make Indian films watched at that level. Again, not taking away from the greatness of anything that others have achieved, I’d like Tom Cruise to say one day that ‘I’ve been given a chance in a Hindi film’. Man, that will be wonderful. Christopher Nolan would say that there is a producer in India who wants him to make a film. Inshallah, that will happen.”
