Two-time Academy Award winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy has announced the release of her animated series Shattering the silence. The series is the first of its kind, as it aims to bring about awareness of the issues faced by the youth, which are considered taboo.

The series is essentially a social awareness campaign in Urdu which is educational and helps children identify their legal rights at a tender age and comprises four parts.

The first part is titled Cheena Hua Bachpan which looks into human trafficking through the employment of domestic laborers, which is a matter that occurs at large but despite that, is often overlooked.

Each short part has been conceptualized, produced and directed by SOC Films and will be 2-3 minutes long. The first episode is out now, do check it out and let us know what you think:
