Mega star Salman Khan’s security has been tightened after a sharp shooter was arrested near his residence in Mumbai.

Contract killer Sampat Nehra, member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in Rajasthan, was reportedly planning to kill Salman and had monitored his movements at his Mumbai residence. The gang — which is one of the most ill-reputed gangs of Rajasthan — had threatened to kill the star over the black buck case.

Mumbai Police revealed that Sampat had been doing a recce of Salman’s residence, took several pictures of his house and was planning to execute the murder over the past few months.

Following this incident, Salman’s father Salim Khan told Indian publication Mid-Day, “This is not the first time, death threats don’t concern the family, we are only worried about his safety, and that is being taken care of.”

An Indian court — two months ago — had convicted the Dabangg actor in the black buck poaching case in which he was accused of killing two black bucks, while on a film shoot in Rajasthan. However, he was later released on bail.

On the work front, Salman was recently spotted with Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez for a practice session of the Dabangg tour. He is also currently busy promoting his upcoming film Race 3 which is slated to release on June 15.
