According to a notification by the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, the decision to make him the brand ambassador was taken at a meeting of the federal task force of population headed by President Dr Arif Alvi.

The singer shared that he is honored to be nominated as an ambassador of Population and Family Planning.

“It’s an honor and a heavy responsibility to be nominated as an ambassador of Population and Family Planning,” Shehzad expressed.

“Through my organisation Zindagit Trust, I work to bring reforms for the education sector. We have changed many polices, but no sector can truly flourish if the most important issue of the country is not addressed. Unless the population is managed, every intervention will only be firefighting,” he added.

“Population explosion is the underlying cause for almost all problems that afflict our nation. We need to act fast!” he concluded.

Shehzad Roy is one of Pakistan’s most esteemed philanthropists. The president and founder of Zindagi Trust first received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2005 for his humanitarian work and excellence in public service. He was also awarded the Sitara-e-Eisaar in 2006 for his rehabilitation work after the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.
