Khadija Shah’s latest offering of Zaha is a festive take on 60s Hollywood-esque style. For this Eidul Azha, the designer tapped into the golden era in order to remind us of the classic fashion that is reminiscent of our mothers’ youth. Women used to carry ethnic wear with such grace and there was an innate confidence in their personality. With Chandni Eid Unstitched Collection 2019, Khadija gave a contemporary twist to aesthetics of the 60s while taking inspirations from architecture, modern motifs and embroidery.

The assortment is rendered in a vivacious and bold colour palette, with a few softer tones, ranging from inky blues to vibrant violets. Available in five distinct designs, the unstitched collection gives you an opportunity to get it styled in a way that you feel like a star!

Here’s our rundown of what we love the most about these five designs:

Roshanah

Zaha

Indigenous tribal patterns beautify this soothing mustard shade in tones of black and white. The shirt has delicate kantha stitchwork, layered with a printed trouser in monochrome. A fully embroidered ivory jaquard dupatta complements the design and gives it a chic look.

Maya

Zaha

This shade of cerulean blue reminds us of clear skies and the white embroidery paints a picture of scattered clouds. The design features intricate white embroidery of Persian shikargah imagery. The trouser has beautiful scalloped lace details over the edges paired with a lush silk dupatta which has artistic applique floral borders. This piece definitely makes a bold statement.

Qirat

Zaha

Abstract tribal patterns along with rose embroideries accentuate this soft pink and cream number. This is quintessentially a feminine design, paired with patterned white-on-white trouser and a flowing jaquard dupatta. We love the light embroidery and spherical lace work over the dusty lavender drape.

Ruksana

Zaha

Lush forest imagery and fine embroidery enlivens this celestial mint green ensemble. This is definitely a romantic design with gold floral ornaments over the jaquard dupatta. An intricate schiffli border over the hems of the lowers makes it more appealing.

Nuzhat

Zaha

Gold foil printing and blooming floral embroideries lay over a bright coral canvas in this serene number. The highlight of the ensemble is a bright berry hued jaquard dupatta with opulent gold patterns. Coral wide legged pants with schiffli border accentuate these contrasting shades.

Pre-booking for Zaha’s Chandni Eid Unstitched Collection started online last night and now it is available in stores at Galleria Mall, Lahore and Maison Èlan, Karachi.
