Winter is almost here and so is the wedding season. For a bride-to-be, her entire wedding bonanza revolves around a bridal trousseau that is not just pretty but also exclusive in design and style. Even the most modern weddings these days adhere to some traditions, and Shiza Hassan’s haute couture label is one such name that has distinctive design aesthetic. Now, a regular participant in PFDC Bridal Week, we were wondering why Shiza Hassan was missing from PLBW18 runaway but were super excited to know about the birth of her baby girl a couple of days after the event.

Her recent bridal wear collection has an array of heavily embellished fusion designs where time-honored styles meet modern silhouettes. A true reflection of an eastern bride, Shiza Hassan’s ensembles have timeless elegance and the designer has worked on frosty and muted tones throughout this range. The subdued colours are a great way to give a break to deep reds and maroons. Shiza’s distinct drapery and intricate trimmings particularly excited us; they are experimental yet fit for a regal, bridal look.

This golden number ‘Summer Dusk’ justifies its name. The head-to-toe, accentuated ensemble has a gown-like feel to it. With gold threadwork,  beads and pearls adorning the dress, the muted shade comes alive with a hint of jewel green accents in the form of exquisite jewellery.

One feature that’s worth a mention is the back panel detailing on this coral ensemble called ‘Coral Dreams’. While the dress is embroidered with unusual motifs, thread and beaded tassels on the back are an instant eye-catcher.  The shades are beige, ivory and soft taupe and these look ethereal when paired with jewel toned ornaments.

‘Pearl Carnation’ has it all – sequins, pearls, threadwork, beads, crystals – over a powder pink organza canvas, which makes for an exquisite and elaborate outfit. A lehnga with a trail and choli isn’t something new, so the designer has added an extra layer of floor-length embroidered fabric with the choli to add an oomph factor and we love it!

The assortment is bold, majestic and regal and is bound to make a bride stand out. If you are on a dress hunt for the Big Day, one of these ensembles will be perfectly opulent and grand enough.
