News of the Day: We are so excited to announce this little piece of news – Sohai Ali Abro will be playing the character of Zenith Irfan, the first Pakistani woman to complete a solo motorcycle ride all over Pakistan’s northern region. This is Adnan Sarwar’s upcoming film, which is the second instalment from his Heroes Trilogy, the first being Shah.

Sohai is a talented actress and we are waiting to see her in a dynamic role and it seems as though she’s the perfect fit for this character. We learnt from Adnan earlier that Sohai is taking motorcycle lessons for the film and will be making the same journey from Lahore to the Khunjerab Pass which Zenith took earlier in 2015 when she was only 20 years old. Adnan also shared that Sohai has been spending time with the motorcyclist to learn her mannerisms as well.

“I feel that Adnan is such a sensitive and intelligent filmmaker and I truly believe in the kind of cinema he wants to create. When I saw Shah I just knew that I had to work with him someday and here I am,” said Sohai in a press release. “It is an absolute honour to play Zenith in his film. The role of this incredible, empowered female is one that I can relate to and is close to my heart. I have always believed in the liberating power of our women, especially considering the taboos we face in our society, and I am really happy that a lot of young girls would be able to look up to me for doing something positive and inspiring.”

We are also excited to see a female-centric film with a female protagonist take centre stage in Pakistan at a time where women do not have the honour of performing substantial roles in cinema. We can’t wait to see how this turns out!
