Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood of the band Strings have previously used their music for social causes. All of us have heard the songs Main Tou Dekhoonga and Ab Khud Kuch Karna Paray Ga, which were not only beautiful music compositions, but had social messages to motivate the youth. Now, Strings has collaborated with Special Olympics Pakistan (SOP) with their recent release, an inspirational number Tum Aasmaan Ho, to support their cause.

The song is a humble contribution of the band to the society to promote the welfare of its citizens with special needs and to endorse inclusivity in different walks of life for them. The lyrics ‘Tum aasmaan ho… tum ho zameen, Jo ye na dekhay… hai us mein hai kami‘ [You are the sky… you are the earth, Whoever cannot see this… is the one who is lacking] reflect that these children with special needs are not lagging behind in any way.

According to a press statement issued by the band, Bilal and Faisal feel honored to contribute to the cause.

“It has been a pleasure working with SOP. These beautiful children are so inspiring and deserve so much more in life. It is an honor for us to be a part of this cause,” the band members said.

The music video features athletes who had participated in Special Olympics World Games held in March 2019. The children competed with 195 countries, against almost 7,500 athletes and have successfully brought back 65 medals to Pakistan.

Written by the legendary Anwar Maqsood and produced by actress Sarwat Gilani, the video is her very first special Olympic anthem. The video with shots of different Special Olympic athletes is directed by Umer Adil and will definitely strike an emotional chord with its viewers.
