Chunky but fabulous, the trend of ugly sneakers (otherwise known as dad sneakers) has taken fashion circuits by storm. Though women loathe ugly shoes, this solid footwear has some charm that they have lured men and women alike, who hopelessly love them.

Initially met with some bemusement and only preferred to be worn by trainers, the shoes went on to become a hit amongst celebrities and hence the hype transforms into variety of designs. These sneakers come in all colors, from pure whites, pinks and blues to prints like zebra and leopard.

We have spotted some of your favorite celebs in these on-trend chunky soles. So take a hint and add at least one pair to your wish list!

Platform sneakers

Don’t underestimate this white sneaker — it’s not as plain as you think. The shoe may have a hint of color or pattern laces to make a statement and if that’s not enough, there’s always the brand’s signature lettering on the front and on the sides. It can be paired with any look, either you are dressed up or dressed down. To make the white sneaker stand out, opt for socks in popping patterns and colours.

90s inspired chunky shoes

Sadaf Kanwal and Abeer Rizvi

Probably this is not one of the most contemporary kinds of shoe on this list, but it is available in multiple brands for men and women. No can deny the fact that it is a timeless item so pair them with a hoodie, a sweater or a maxi dress and you’ll look like a million bucks.

Comfort in colors

Fahad Mustafa and Bilal Khan in colourful kicks

Confess it now! If you see Fahad Mustafa wearing black and neon chunky kicks, you can’t resist buying a pair for yourself. There’s a reason why they are called dad sneakers because men ought to make a permanent spot for these in their shoe closet. They are a reliable source of comfort, whether you plan to jog a mile, walk to the gym or make a chic public appearance.

Multi-colored kicks

Would Miranda Priestly from The Devil Wears Prada approve a pair of bright-hued ugly sneakers on a model? While we will never know it (although I honestly doubt she would), we think Fouzia Aman loved them. Taking inspiration, we think many of us would love to show off our gorgeous dad sneakers in bold colors.
