The fourth season of the much-loved TV show — The Crown — has introduced a long-awaited character, Princess of Wales, Lady Diana, leaving us all in awe. However, it has also provided us answers for the much-anticipated question about how the show will present Diana’s sartorial choices. The late princess is one of the most widely photographed and loved women in the world for many reasons and her sense of style is one of them.
Costume designer of the series, Amy Roberts, recently explained to Town & Country, that the version of Diana portrayed by actress Emma Corrin is not the confident princess fans remember. Here the young lady is only getting her footing and is very naive. The series shows how she meets the prince, gets engaged and enters the royal palace.
Here are some of the memorable looks recreated in The Crown. The pictures on the right are from real-life events while on the left are the looks recreated in the TV series:
Her yellow dungaree
A pink patterned sweater
Her black sheep sweater
A floral dress
The royal blue and white outfit at Diana’s engagement announcement
Princess Diana’s wedding dress
A Bellville Sassoon dress
A sky blue pleated skirt dress
Blue ball gown with ruffles
White gown & matching shrug
Which one do you think is the most amazing recreation?
