Most fashion journalists ARE the best dressed people around!

Muniba, in a Monsoon LBD, was undoubtedly Best Dressed that day. So I am on a roll here but  have to drag you all back to Pakistan Fashion Week 3 and the Zong Award for Best Dressed (lady and gentleman) on the red carpet. Two judges were appointed each day and on Day 1, the award went to Muniba Kamal (Editor Instep) and Declan Walsh (who, wearing jeans and a work shirt joked that the award was rigged). Both journalists, Walsh does qualify as good looking and Muniba is both good looking and fashionably well dressed. Hani Taha wearing Shehla Chatoor. There's just something about intelligent women that makes them automatically attractive. And like it...

Fashion Pakistan Week S/S 2012: Day 3

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wccuK1bBTdc&feature=youtu.be] You know the feeling of excited desperation you get when you’re reading a great book or watching a super film and you never want it to end. Well I got that feeling at FPW yesterday. The day was so amazing that I didn’t want to let go of it, despite exhaustion kicking in like never before. But what a day! What a line-up, even from the unexpected new stars of fashion! Meera strikes a pose for Nomi Ansari Meera has never looked this good before and Nomi Ansari injected a shot of adrenalin to a day that was already very high on good fashion! Mehreen Syed poses in Shamaeel spring/summer 2012 Shamaeel's floral collection was gentle...

FPW3 Day Two

It's very flattering how my friends and followers have been asking why I'm not promptly uploading my thoughts on FPW3 but really, this back to back fashion marathon is exhausting and between this, a family wedding and filling forms for China and Hong Kong visas I'm going crazy. As for FW, I'm trying to reserve all thoughts for my official reviews. Anyhoo, a little must to be said. Sana Hashwani, dressed in Cavalli, was Best Dressed on Day 2. Seen here with her gorgeous daughter Zuvair. Hani Taha, dressed in a Shehla Chatoor jumpsuit, put up strong competition but it would have seemed rigged had I nominated her for Best Dressed! Fashion Pakistan Week 3 day one

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz1z51hgcy8&feature=youtu.be] - I quite felt the buzz on the first day of FPW3. Despite the heat and the long walk to the venue, there was fashion in the air and style in most of the runway shows. In brief: - It was great meeting so many bloggers and twitterers that one encounters in cyberspace but hardly gets to meet. - Depilex's terrible Hair & Makeup at the recently held Showcase made one appreciate Sab's Hair & Make up at FPW3. She really has come a long way and did a great job of creating slick, clean looks for models. - As Karma works with Asmaa Mumtaz, Sanam Chaudhri worked with Ayaz Khan, Rana and Maha Burney for the styling of her show. Ideally each...

“We even have a designer from Chichawatni,”; FPW3.

Mr Daniel Tarshish, British Deputy Head of Mission, spoke at the press conference, smartly suited in Ahmed Bham who will be making a fashion week debut at FPW3. I’m so excited that Pakistani fashion is finally coming together, as Spokesperson FP Deepak Perwani more than vehemently stated that one designer from Chichawatni, two from Islamabad and two from Peshawer would be showing at FPW3. What he meant was that, as the name suggested, ‘Fashion Pakistan’ was a platform that encompassed fashion from all over Pakistan. Very, very exciting! Though I have seen a few fashion labels trickling in from Islamabad what sounds promising is Chichawatni and Peshawer. Just imagine! All this information, along with the list of 25...

“The umbrella is Pakistani fashion and our strength is content.”

Shamaeel Ansari, Chairperson Fashion Pakistan council, breaks the silence on the upcoming FPW3 Shamaeel at FPW2 Speculation is rife regarding Fashion Pakistan’s comeback after spending two years in the shadow of Lahore’s Pakistan Fashion Design Council. But the FP board is confident that now that logistics are under control they will take off exactly from where they left. They will be able to make up for lost time. Fashion Pakistan Week 3, scheduled to begin on April 6 in Karachi (though there there may be a change of date), will dispel many false rumours doing the rounds, FP’s new Chairperson Shamaeel feels. Can you give us a brief recap of what took Fashion Pakistan (FP) two years to make...
