Ho Mann Jahan’s release postponed

Asim Raza’s eagerly anticipated feature film, starring Mahira Khan, Shehryar Munawar and Adeel Hussain in lead roles, will now hit cinemas after Moharram. Projected as an Eid-ul-Azha release in a star-studded press conference earlier this year, Ho Mann Jahan will now make it to cinemas by the end of November, at the earliest. Producer/Director Asim Raza explains his reasons…       Why has the release of Ho Mann Jahan been postponed?     Asim Raza:Jawani Phir Nahi Aani is releasing on Eid-ul-Azha and it’s a big Pakistani film that we don’t want to go head to head with. Catching Up with Mahira Khan

The verdict is in and in the words of Saqib Malik, “Bin Mahira there is no Bin Roye.”   Anyone making an educated guess would have predicted the overwhelming response Mahira Khan was about to receive in the first feature film marking her debut in lead role. Yes, her big screen debut was Bol in 2011 but hers was a small role back then; it was a role that got overshadowed by Khirad in Humsafar and how!   It would be fair to say that Mahira Khan is no longer Humsafar’s tragic heroine Khirad. Ho Mann Jahan…in Chitral

At the risk of sounding like a TV Channel, I have to say - with delight - that Asim Raza has shared these fantastic images of a Ho Mann Jahan shoot in Chitral exclusively with us.   Asim Raza with his team of young co-directors   The weather is perfect, crisp and it promises to inspire all of us to head out Up-North when the film releases on Eid ul Azha.   Mahira and Adeel   In what looks like a romantic frolic in wheat fields, you can see Mahira and Adeel in action. The shooting was for the song, "Dil Pagla" by Zebunnisa Bangash, which promises to be a fantastic track.   Love the location!   Please do not steal...

We saw the Ho Mann Jahaan teaser and Wow!

It isn’t the simplest film title to enunciate, understand or remember but Ho Mann Jahan, as director/producer Asim Raza said in the film’s introductory press conference tonight, has double meaning. It refers to a place where your heart is and it also refers to the heart as the universe, the ‘jahaan‘.     Held around the set of Ho Mann Jahan at Frere Hall, where a mehndi dance sequence has been filming these past few days, did Asim Raza host his press conference introducing the film and its cast to the media while revealing a teaser from the film. And how cool did the teaser look! I did an exclsuive interview with Asim last week, which was published inInstep this Sunday, so had most of the information...
