A recap of my life…as a fashion journalist

I'm writing this to inspire girls and boys with a love for writing, a nose for journalism and  a passion for fashion to take up careers in fashion journalism. It's something the industry desperately needs and while we have ample bloggers (digital is the future, right?) we also need dedicated souls who want to train for the job, write for publications, follow and understand the ethics of journalism BEFORE becoming publishers of their own sites. Ensemble One beats The PFDC Boulevard and FP Lounge to Dolmen Mall

Five fashion weeks led to the opening of Ensemble One at Dolmen Mall today and I must say, it was a phenomenal success. Stocking fashion under Rs 10,000 is a revolutionary idea for Pakistan (where the average designer label begins at 15,000) and credit goes to Zeba Husain, Shehrnaz and Shezray for bringing it together. Most fashion journalists ARE the best dressed people around!

Muniba, in a Monsoon LBD, was undoubtedly Best Dressed that day. So I am on a roll here but  have to drag you all back to Pakistan Fashion Week 3 and the Zong Award for Best Dressed (lady and gentleman) on the red carpet. Two judges were appointed each day and on Day 1, the award went to Muniba Kamal (Editor Instep) and Declan Walsh (who, wearing jeans and a work shirt joked that the award was rigged).
