Society Sartorial: Shezray and Shehrnaz Husain

The bride, Shezray, looked beautiful in a customized Sabyasachi Mukherjee ensemble whereas her younger sister Shehrnaz, carried a Bunto Kazmi original just as well. The turquoise churidaar was hardly visible but it showed when Shehrnaz danced and that is what the 'Disco Deewani' mehndi was all about: dancing the night away, as one would at any festive and happening mehndi. I would have loved to upload Nomi Ansari's ingenious rendition of Rang Barse but I don't think Nomi would want to show his hidden talent to the world! Photograph: Faisal Farooqui...

Society Sartorial: Zeba Husain

Zeba Husain, founder of the Carnival de Couture and the powerhouse that brought Ensemble to Karachi and Lahore, wears Sabyasachi Mukherjee at an afternoon brunch held at Aylanto for her newly wed daughter Shezray and son in law Emaad. Sabyasachi is a close friend of Zeba's and it is expected that he will be invited to come and show at the next Carnival, when and if ever things stabilize long enough for that to happen....

Best dressed at PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week

Musharaf Hai, the woman with a vision for fashion. Fashion week's black (red) carpet wasn't very happening this time, what with all those weddings happening in Lahore and hence high profile attendance being low. Designer Kamiar Rokni admitted to shaadi hopping all evening, every evening. And that explains why so many people looked like they were coming or going to a wedding. Anyway, L'Oreal Pakistan's CEO Musharaf Hai fitted fashion's bill by wearing this Sabyasachi Mukherjee ensemble to its full credit. You can tell Mukherjee designs by a distance for their earthen palette and use of velvet and cotton. These windows speak to me 2

The pull of fashion is such that I went back to Ensemble today, just to check out the freshly stocked racks of clothing and seeing how fabulous the fashion really was. It was, it was! Sabyasachi Mukherjee was there in full glory though I have to say the collection was a little geared to winter and it was way too steep! Beautiful but steep. The PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week collection was in from Kamiar Rokni and it was thrilling to see some diluted and less pricey versions from the same. Loved the range of crumpled khaki kurtas by HSY.
