The PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week wore a cloak of confidence that camouflaged its few shortcomings and enhanced serious progress that is being made in fashion.

What the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2016 wore last week was a cloak of confidence. The fashion week in Lahore, held over four days, was happily clad in a sense of security, magnitude and optimism that it has managed to achieve through a series of successful runs over the past few years. The lineup was impressive, hardly any collections were misplaced, and the juxtaposition of ready to wear, luxury pret and even lawn worked in cohesion with the keynote being industry development.
Designers have come into their own sense of identity and it...
The first day of the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week 2015 ended in absolute chaos. Guests in the audience were left in a state of complete disorientation when the last show of the day wrapped up at 9:15, ending at an unprecedented decent hour. Many of media’s fro-wers had sent their cars away, calling them back at 11pm. Others hadn’t planned anything for the evening ahead. Those invited to Ali Zafar’s party wondered how to kill time to not be the first ones there and one lost soul was even overheard saying, “Yar, they could have stretched it to 10. What will we do now!â€
Personally, I felt it was delightful and set an extremely professional tone for the three days ahead....
Day Three at PSFW started with the strongest collection Rizwan Beyg has done since his Carnivale showing almost a decade ago. And it was an unfair disadvantage for everyone following. How do you follow that?
Truck art was redefined like never before, created by artisans in rural areas, and the entire collection was manufactured 'ethically'. The images were so powerful and so inherently Pakistani. This was a show only someone with Rizwan Beyg's confidence could have put out. It was visually splendid. Nothing on Day 3 could impress after it.
I don't know why I don't have a visual for Zonia Anwaar on my iPad but I will be updating as soon as the official pictures come...
