Makers of Veere Di Wedding released their first single Tareefan today and we must admit, it doesn’t disappoint. Composed by Qaran Mehta featuring Badshah — of Kala Chashma fame — this promotional song is conceptualised and choreographed by Farah Khan.

The video shows role reversal of the genders with the girls lip-syncing to the song, being boss ladies and partying up while men are relegated to the background. See for yourself:

Talking about ‘Tareefan’, Farah says, “This is the second music video that I have conceptualised after Bluffmaster’s ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu Hai’. We’ve taken this song to the next level. The concept of a gender swap really appealed to me, so we made the boys the decorative pieces in the song, with the girls being the heroes. It was fun working with some truly empowered and enlightened women like Rhea (Kapoor), Ekta (Kapoor), Kareena, Sonam, Swara and Shikha.”

The movie’s trailer has received its fair share of criticism on the way women have been portrayed and similarly ‘Tareefan’ might not go well with some, however one can’t deny that Kareena and Sonam do look fabulous in this catchy and upbeat number.

We can’t wait for the movie to release so we can steal the fashion looks donned by the girls in it.
