Finally it’s Friday! After a seemingly never-ending, monotonous week, the weekend has reared its head and all you can think about is lazing around the house in pajamas and watching senseless shows. Well, we hear you. Watching high-brow and intellectually complex shows can get a little exhausting and sometimes you just want to watch ridiculous shows to unwind and give your mind some respite from running 100 miles per hour. If you’re looking for something that requires minimal brain activity then you’ve come to the right place.

Here’s our pick of 5 easy-on-the-mind shows that you can watch over the weekend…

1. Lucifer

Yes! You read that right, its Lucifer. What’s better than the Satan entertaining you himself? If you want all the stress of your life to drain out your body and mind, then Lucifer is the show for you. One of the most ludicrous shows that one can watch, where the Devil works as a civilian consultant to the LAPD. And unsurprisingly falls in love with the lead detective, Chloe Decker. The show offers a frustratingly narcissistic club owner as the Master of Hell, who does as he pleases but at heart (if he has one) is kind and considerate.

2. Russian Doll

The title of the show may give you the false idea of this being a thrilling show but let’s pop that bubble right away.

On her 36th birthday, the cynical and wise cracking Nadia gets hit by a car and dies, setting in motion a loop of the same day that always starts in the same bathroom of her friend’s apartment while Harry Nilsson’s “Gotta Get Up” repeats. In cracking the key to her purgatorial state, Nadia stumbles across Alan, who’s dying repeatedly the same as her, and together, they work to get the bottom of how and why they’re connected to end the cycle of mutual doom.

This 8-episode-long series is the best show to consume without break to escape reality for some time.

3.  Schitt’s Creek

Yeah, you read that right, it does sound like sh*t’s Creek but it is what it is. Schitt’s Creek follows the life of the Rosses, a filthy rich family that suddenly loses its wealth and is left broke with just one property that the family had bought jokingly a while back, in a Canadian town, Schitt’s Creek.  Now this penniless family, comprising of a set of strange parents with two spoiled brats for children, moves to the only property left to their name to start a new life, leaving behind the life of luxury.

If you want to revel in the misery of the Rosses, then Schitt’s Creek can be your weekend’s guilty pleasure.

4.  Full House

The famous 90s show revolves around the life of a single father, Danny Tanner, who is raising his three daughters with the help of his brother-in-law and best friend. Full House is a light-hearted family drama which even at times tugs on your heart strings. Full House is the best show for you if you want a wholesome experience with comedy and emotions together.

So buckle up and dive into a Full House marathon with a pint of ice cream and enjoy the weekend in the most comfy way possible.

5. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Here’s another Netflix treat for you if you want to have a good laugh.

After getting rescued from a doomsday cult, Kimmy moves to NYC to start her life all over. As the main character struggles to adjust into the city life, she befriends her landlady, roommate and socialite employer. This is an unconventional comedy to help you get away from the burdens of life.
