TGIF: All the pre-Eid and Ramadan exhibits to attend in Karachi & Lahore this week

The holy month of Ramadan is about to begin and it is only fair if you want to spend the maximum time in prayers and avoid hunting for clothes and accessories all the time. Ahead of the festive season, pre-Ramadan and Eid ul Fitr exhibits are being organized to take that extra stress off you. Shop for clothing, accessories or home decor and spend your Ramadan stress-free and we want to say may you all have an ‘on sale and in your size’ kinda weekend.

1) Open Mic Night

For a chance to express yourself, this open mic night is the platform. Not only it is it free, but you will also meet many like-minded people and certainly make contact if you decide to pursue your passion in the future. Sing, laugh, dance, recite; whatever you do, do it wholeheartedly.

2) Sadaf Malik Exhibition

To take that burden off, a pre-Ramadan and pre-Eid exhibit is being organized by Sadaf Malik. Whether you like wearing light colours or deep shades during the summer season, you will find it in this collection of formals and semi-formals.

1) Blocked Karachi Exhibition

2) Bas Ek Piyali Chai: Film screening

Chai: it is that one thing that has connected many; it somehow brings out the intellect in people and has helped form several connections in the sub-continent. This film is the depiction of how a perfectly brewed cup of tea can stay with you for years. The story is about Ghulam Raees who recalls the old days when he used to work as a tea seller at Ahmedeen’s tea shop on the busy street of the town. Even after years when he passes by the now-closed tea shop, he remembers the times he spent with his friends over a cup of tea.

1) OLO Jams ft. Laqeer Ke Faqeer

Unlike all its previous jam sessions, this time is different as a family takes center stage to perform! A married couple along with band members will be singing live at this week’s session so, be there to experience it.

2) Book Launch: No Fortunes To Tell

Through their poetic verses, the authors aim to create a conversation and stir up the emotion of how people who constantly suffer in this world feel. Talking about Aleppo, Waziristan, Yemen, Balochistan, Kashmir and Sehwan, their bone-chilling verses will make you feel the anguish and trials of the bombed children and their shattered dreams. The book will help the reader see the world through the eyes of the oppressed.

1) Motorcycle Girl screening

Based on a true story of Zenith Irfan, who became Pakistan’s first female motorcyclist to travel through the northern areas of the country, this film is inspirational and takes you on a journey of a woman who refused to cave into societal norms. Watch the film if you haven’t already or re-watch it to get a renewed sense of inspiration.
