It has been a year of records for the Pakistani cinema and an addition to the list of successful movies is The Donkey King which has now become the first Pakistani animated film to make one crore in a single day.

According to Lollywood Films, the movie has set a new record at the box office, making it the first Pakistani animated film to have made one crore in one day. Overall, it has been a triumphant year as the cinema bloomed with successes like Load Wedding, Parwaaz Hai Junoon and particularly Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 which became the highest grossing movie in Pakistan, making more than 60 crores globally.

 

 

Written, directed and co-produced by Aziz Jindani, the film has garnered massive appreciation from audiences of all ages and has successfully bagged three crores on its first weekend of release, setting a benchmark for future animated movies.

Many acclaimed stars of the industry are part of the movie’s voice cast with the likes of Hina Dilpazeer, John Rambo and Javed Sheikh. The movie explores the fictional land of Azadnagar, a kingdom of animals where the lion rules and the donkey is the lowest in the hierarchy. It is a donkey’s story from rags to riches.
