The trailer of one of Eid ul Fitr’s romantic comedy offering Wrong No. 2 has been released on Friday. Directed by Yasir Nawaz, the film starring Sami Khan and Neelam Muneer in lead roles appears to be a riot of comedy, but the  innumerable plotlines seem to make it disoriented.

The story revolves around a rich heiress Zoya, who falls in love with a man lower to her in financial status, played by Sami Khan. Her father won’t approve of the union and then she will try every trick ever used in the film trade to convince her dad. Though, the basic premise sounds nothing novel yet sweet, the over abundance of characters (Javed Sheikh, Mehmood Aslam, Sana Fakhar, Danish Nawaz, Ahmed Hassan, Shafqat Cheema and many more) make everything look exaggerated.

The filmmaker warns us just at the beginning of the trailer with a fair caution when it says ”another dazed laugh ride” because the 2-minute 52 seconds preview will  leave you in a state of mental numbness. The opening itself is a let down as the music is copied from Housefull’s famous song Papa Jag Jayegha.

After the trailer, it is evident that whoever is at the helm of editing here needs to up his/her game. We were confused as to why Neelam and Sami had no dialogue in a 1-minute 30 seconds teaser which was released earlier. Now perhaps we know as even the trailer fails to do any justice to the lead characters focusing majorly on other actors. Last time we appreciated Neelam’s fluent Pashto which didn’t sound like a garish imitation, this time that credit goes to actor Ahmed Hassan, who is also the dialogue writer of the film. Though his performance is over the top, he is still convincing with his witty one-liners.

We rarely saw Sami speaking in the trailer, but it has loads of romance sequences, abrupt songs, swirls, a peppy shaadi song and action. What took us by surprise is that the filmmaker has revealed the ending of the film in the trailer which makes no sense whatsoever.

Wrong No. 2 is slated to release on Eid ul Fitr. Watch the trailer and tell us what you think:
