The fifth season of musical platform Nescafé Basement kicked off literally with a bang as one of the tracks in the first episode has gone viral over the internet. The song Bol Hu by Soch The Band is the talk of the town because it features musical prodigy – Syeda Hadiya Hashmi – who has won over hearts with her first performance.

Discovered by none other than producer Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan aka Xulfi, the 8-year-old has left us all mesmerized with her confidence to perform with established musicians. If that wasn’t impressive, the girl has a powerful vocal range as she croons to a sufi kalaam.

Touted by some to be the youngest sufi sensation of current times, Hadiya remarkably handles the composition alongside Adnan Dhool as they sang the spiritual lyrics of Bol Hu. It was a delight to watch a fifth grader reaching such high notes and ending them with such ease; we definitely expect to see more of her performances.

Bol Hu explores the mystical journey of soul searching and captivates you in a trance of belief and devotion with its strong lines. This season Nescafé Basement is also introducing young talent including a 13-year-old drummer — Sinaan — whose talent precedes his age.

An interesting trivia is that Momina Mustehsan also came into the limelight when she sang the song Awari with Soch The Band, which was featured in Bollywood movie Ek Villian.
