The much-awaited trailer for Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan’s Thugs of Hindostan is finally out and it surely packs an enthralling punch that hasn’t been seen in Bollywood for a while.

Taking us back to 1795 where the British are the ascendant power, the trailer – which does have The Pirates of the Carribean feel to it - looks at how a band of thugs is creating the stiffest challenge for the colonialists. Action-packed, we find the British with their guns and firepower, while the Indians, led by Amitabh’s character Khudabaksh – who is reverentially called Azad by his followers, get ready to fight for freedom in their own way.

On the other hand, there’s Firangi Mallah played by Aamir Khan whose two-timing sharp-mindedness brings him in the middle of the conflict between the British and the ‘Hindostani Thugs,’ and the fight that is about to ensue. Will Firangi change sides and win a war for the sons of the soil? That’s what we’ll have to wait and watch.

Something else that we’ll also have to wait for is Katrina Kaif, who only makes a fleeting appearance in the trailer.

The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif in lead roles and is based on the 1839 novel Confessions of a Thug by Philip Meadows Taylor. The film will release on November 8.
