As the much-awaited Bollywood film Thugs of Hindostan is about two months away from its release, the team behind the film has actively been sharing snippets from the film as part of its promotion. And while most of it has been enthralling, we couldn’t help but notice a few inspirations here and there – and no we don’t mean Pirates of the Caribbean at all!

Seeing a motion poster of Fatima Sana Shaikh of Dangal fame – who plays the role of Zafira in the film, we couldn’t help but notice her likeness to Princess Guinevere – played by Keira Knightley in the 2004 film, King Arthur. From the way her bow and arrow is framed to her reported role in the film as Aamir Khan’s side-kick, the resemblance is uncanny.

Are we the only ones who feel the curly locks are an even bigger form of flattery here than imitation?

Apart from Fatima’s role, it seems even Amitabh Bachchan’s role resembles the idea of Merlin here. Anyone who knows their history or their literature, will remember that Merlin albeit a magician, is also like a teacher to the young King Arthur. Who’s the young blooded king in ToH? Aamir Khan, of course.

Now whether all of this is just a coincidence or will it turn out to be true, we’ll find out when the film releases November 8th.
