The much anticipated trailer for Salman Khan’s upcoming film, Tiger Zinda Hai, has finally released. Returning as Tiger, the Indian spy with equal parts muscle and brains, the Bhai of Bollywood is back to bring in the quintessential action-masala his fans crave for.

The trailer of Tiger Zinda Hai reveals the story of spy on a mission to save nurses being held hostage in Iraq by an evil dictator. Shot in exotic locations – apparently in Iraq – the larger than life action is all that it really shows with, of course, dots of storyline here and there.

While all the action-sequences are directed by Tom Struthers, who’s best known for his work on Christopher Nolan films such as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, and Dunkirk, the film smartly utilizes action as a way to move the story forward. Case in point: Katrina Kaif as the bombshell Pakistani agent, who seems to have exchanged her clichéd Pakistani look for a more Tomb Raider avatar.

On the whole, the film does really fit well into a world-class standard of action films and Salman does in many scenes remind of Hollywood action heroes. However, we’ll still hope that Tiger Zinda Hai retains some originality through the narrative!

The film is all set to release on 22nd December 2017.
