With many of his films inspired by the works of Shakespeare, director Vishal Bhardwaj is ready to take a break from them and look for his next venture in Catherine Scott’s book, ‘The Exile: The Stunning Inside Story of Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda in Flight’.

Titled Abbottabad, the project will be produced by Bhardwaj and Junglee Pictures, and will be an insider’s account of Al-Qaeda after 9/11. It is about the history of the terrorist network, from 2001 to the present and reveals a dark web of familial and political machinations.

Although no further details about the project or the cast have been revealed yet, Nawazuddin Siddiqui also spoke about ‘signing a Bhardwaj film to an Indian daily recently,’ and there’s a high chance that this may be it.

Bhardwaj’s last film was Rangoon, which starred Kangana Ranaut, Saif Ali Khan and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles, but was a huge box-office failure.
