Director Wajahat Rauf, who has previously given us films like Karachi Se Lahore, Lahore Se Aagey and Chhalawa, is all geared up for his upcoming film. He took to Instagram on his birthday last weekend and revealed the poster of the film titled Parde Mein Rehne Do.

The poster features the lead pair Hania Aamir and Ali Rehman Khan in colourful clothes. Hania is dressed up in a sequined hot pink blouse over a bright yellow sequined sari. Ali can be seen in a yellow floral jacket over a navy blue kurta.

“On my birthday, this is my and my team’s gift to me! Presenting this labour of love called ‘Parde Mein Rehne Do‘,” the director wrote.

Wajahat also revealed that the trailer of the movie will be out soon. “This movie was made against all odds in Covid times with a cast, crew, writer and exec producer who all refused to stand down. I say this on behalf of all my colleagues: We are super excited to be back! Trailer coming soon!”

Written by Mohsin Ali and produced by Wajahat Rauf, Shazia Wajahat and Wajahat Ali Abbasi, the film also stars Javed Sheikh, Noor ul Hassan, Sadia Faisal, Saifee Hasan amongst others. Earlier, it was revealed that the movie is a romantic comedy that carries a social message.

Hania also shared the poster and her experience while shooting the film: “So excited to finally share this with all of you! What a wonderful experience filming this beautiful project with the most amazing people!”

Ali also wrote that he is ecstatic to present the official poster of their film. “This film has been really close to my heart. I’ve made some amazing friends along the way that have now become family, all while telling such a beautiful story. Can’t wait for you guys to watch it!”

Though filmmakers are not sure about the operation of cinemas in Pakistan due to the uncertainty in the pandemic, Wajahat Rauf is hopeful. In a conversation with Something Haute, Wajahat said: “I think cinemas have been opened in eight cities and we’ve heard that Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad will be next as things get back normal. Although, there is no confirmation yet. I think it is safe to say this, on behalf on my colleagues also, that we are looking forward to be back on the big screen!”
