Being a celebrity comes with its fair share of controversy, stress, highs and lows and not many people know that better than Mahira Khan, who’s seen the highest of highs and some very upsetting lows. The superstar had a tumultuous last year, whether it was courtesy Raees being banned in Pakistan, her little white dress, Verna reviews and more. The actress persevered through it all with utmost dignity and grace. What is it that truly helped her get through the ups and downs, we wondered? Some stars depended on yoga and meditation, prayer, holiday breaks etc. Mahira reveals what got her through 2017…

At the recently-held Miss Veet finale in Karachi, Ali Zafar called Mahira onstage and asked her what has remained the most important lesson in her journey; what helped her get through every hurdle in life?

“I’ve said this many times; people receive awards, take selfies with fans, but the most content one feels is when you rush back and have a cup of tea with three of your oldest friends or when you snuggle into your bed with your child,” Mahira said, with her characteristic charm. “The journey has been so long that one knows that whenever there’s trouble, it is this, which holds you together. The rest of it comes and goes.”

Mahira will soon be seen in not one, but two films with both Maula Jatt and Saat Din Mohabbat In slated to release in 2018.
