Over the last weekend Atif Aslam performed at the Lahore Coca Cola Food and Music Festival. The star-studded line up for the 3-day event included Josh, Asim Azhar, Quadrum, Jawad Ahmed, Zeb Bangash and the likes. But what grabbed everyone’s attention was the mind-blowing performance of Nescafé Basement famed Hadiya Hashmi and Atif together.
After her debut performance with song Bol Hu by Soch the band, she became an overnight sensation for all the right reasons. Touted by some to be the youngest Sufi sensation of current times, Hadiya remarkably handles the composition alongside Adnan Dhool as they sang the spiritual lyrics of the song. It was a delight to watch a fifth grader reaching such high notes and ending them with such ease.
This weekend the 8-year-old singer mesmerized a live audience when she performed alongside Atif Aslam. Creating magic once again, Hadiya sang Noor Jahan’s Ae Watan Ke Sajeelay Jawaano and the audience couldn’t contain their excitement. Atif himself seemed impressed by the young girl’s control and command over vocals.
Here’s a sneak peek of their spectacular collaboration:
