YSL – a French luxury fashion brand recently released their fall 2018 campaign featuring American model Kaia Gerber sporting a Muslim skull cap with a sleek black YSL bag.

And of course, unsurprisingly, it was the prayer cap that caught attention rather than the gorgeous black YSL bag with people not happy about the situation. Let’s have a look at some of the comments:

“This is so wrong!!! You are benefiting from the Muslim culture without even acknowledging or attributing them.. at least give credit for you “creativity” where its due [sic],” one person commented.

“Why is it that if Muslims wore this religious cap they would be targeted as TERRORISTS but Kai can wear it as a fashion statement,” another person questioned. One user even termed it an act of appropriation.
