Ever since Verna‘s melodic ‘Sambhal Sambhal Kay‘ was released, there have been two things on everyone’s minds. Firstly, the song itself. Currently, the song has seized the top position on Patari’s weekly charts, and rightfully so. Sung by Haroon Shahid and Zeb Bangash, the romantic ballad is infectious and the catchy chorus is definitely playing on repeat somewhere as we speak.

But the second thing on everyone’s mind has been the following question: Why in the world are Haroon’s lips looking so pink?! At first we thought that it had been intentionally done but a quick conversation with Haroon at the trailer launch for Verna revealed that the pink lips came as a surprise for him as well.

“My whole focus was on my lips in that song; I was wondering why they looked so pink! Everyone’s thinking that,” he laughed out loud. “I’m hoping they don’t look like that in the rest of the film. But you know, these things happen. Let’s hope for the best cause it’s the performance that really matters.”

Haroon Shahid on why Mahira Khan doesn’t intimidate him

Talking about his own performance, Haroon didn’t want to make any tall claims about his work. “It was a very difficult film as a newcomer but it was a great experience working with Shoaib sahab and Mahira as my debut, and getting to work as a musician on this film was of course a dream come true for me.” Haroon hasn’t just acted in the film or sung its songs, but he has actually helped compose many tracks in the film as well.

The film releases on the 17th of November this year and we are also looking forward to watching a correctly colour graded film on the big screen!
