‘Qaumi Tarana’, the first ever watch that plays a country’s national anthem, was launched under a starry, winter night in Karachi with an exclusive guest list. Amongst many others, actors Syra Shahroz, Shahroz Sabzwari and Kiran Malik put their best foot forward and came out in support of Collectibles and their new patriotic, limited edition watch.

CEO of Sonraj Pakistan Rameez Sattar partnered with Patrick Pruniaux, CEO of luxury Swiss watch manufacturer Ulysse Nardin, to introduce this fascinating limited edition number. Sonraj has been associated with elite Swiss watch brands since its inception in 1976. Its first retail venture, ‘Collectibles,’ caters to a niche customer base with its exclusive fine brands such as Vacheron Constanin, Audemars Piguet and Blancpain, so it’s no surprise that Rameez approached luxury Swiss brand Ulysse Nardin for this venture.

“This was an idea that came to my mind. So I approached Ulysse Nardin and said I want to do something. A lot of research was done and a lot of technicalities were looked into,” Rameez Sattar revealed.

To commemorate 70 years of Pakistan, Rameez wanted to launch the watch before the 14th of August this year, but “the sound wasn’t as good as we wanted,” he explained. The team worked on orchestrating the Anthem tune, hence it was launched in December.

Patrick Pruniaux arrived in Pakistan for a short 12-hour stay to attend the launch of the ‘Qaumi Tarana.’

“We are very fortunate to have a very strong partnership here in Pakistan… In all of the years, the success of the brand is linked to the people we work with,” Patrick commented on his collaboration with Rameez.

“For us, on one hand we are a global brand with very strong values and roots in Switzerland. On the other hand, we want to make sure we can also adapt to the values of different countries,” he continued.

As always, it’s great to see international brands bringing in their products to Pakistan, and Collectibles has really brought us a one of a kind creation with the ‘Qaumi Tarana’ watch!
