Earlier last year we reported that Mawra Hocane has passed her LLB exam, securing world distinction in Islamic Law. The actress on Tuesday evening attended her graduation ceremony at the University of London and it is indeed a moment of celebration for her!

Mawra secured a total of 85%, which is the highest in Pakistan, for which she got a distinction at her convocation. The University of London Bachelors degree in General Law allows her to practice in Pakistan’s Lower Courts.

A law degree was conferred on the actress last night in a convocation ceremony held at Barbican Centre in the city of London.

Mawra shared her excitement on social media and posted photographs of the ceremony.

“A few moments in life are just so intense & profound that in that very moment one doesn’t know what to do with it. I truly didn’t think I would ever graduate alongside my career but today while I walked on that stage all I felt was gratitude, so much gratitude for living this life, for having the best of all worlds, for all the Love & prayers all of you say for me, for all the faith my faculty has always shown in me! I’m just so so THANKFUL! #Alhumdulillah Here’s to many more achievements & a life full of impossible mad dreams,” she wrote on Instagram.

In an earlier conversation with Something Haute, Mawra had revealed that she plans to take up a career in law and intends to pursue Family Law, which is an extension of Islamic Law.

“Divorce, for example, is too complicated for women to pursue in court in Pakistan,” she had said. “The law favours a man. Similar applies to rape or khula scenarios. Our courts demand evidence for maltreatment, which is always very hard to prove. In all manner, our laws favour a man. Women are not given alimony and child support and when women ask for a divorce they automatically give up her rights to all kinds of support. This has to be addressed,” Mawra said.

Well, now we are eagerly waiting for Advocate Mawra Hocane to make a debut in court as well.

Interestingly, musician-cum-actor Uzair Jaswal also attended the convocation as he has also graduated from the University of London at the same time. The singer shared his picture with his fans on Instagram.
