Following rising tensions between India and Pakistan, Bollywood has put a blanket ban on Pakistani artistes. Even the singers were not spared this time with T-series removing songs by Atif Aslam and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan from their YouTube channel, only to restore the songs after strong demand from subscribers.

In a recent development, music composer Amaal Mallik has revealed that Atif Aslam will not be a part of the music album of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film De De Pyaar De. Earlier in January, Amaal shared on Twitter that he had collaborated with Atif and couldn’t wait to share the music with fans:

In response to a tweet, Amaal later backtracked and said the song would be sung by Arijit Singh. This resulted in a debate about who is a better singer amongst the two:

Amaal has now confirmed that no singer has been finalized yet for the song:

Atif’s fans have bombarded Amaal with queries on Twitter and have even urged him to release Atif’s version even if it’s not a part of the movie. This will not be the first time that Bollywood has acted unfairly; previously Salman Khan also dropped Atif’s song from the movie Notebook.
