Even though it is summer season, celebrities are not slowing down when it comes to channeling their inner diva. By the looks of it we have to adjust the brightness of our screens as some of our favourite artists are frequently donning neon shades in one way or the other. Ultra-bright colours also dominated at the spring runways internationally as the full spectrum of colour was presented, but flourescent green particularly made a strong case; case in point: Deepika Padukone at Festival de Cannes 2019.

However, no matter how much you love a good pop of colour, it is tricky to pull off a neon ensemble. Fortunately, the modern version of the chic trend is less highlighter-like and more about creating a perfect contrast. So fret not! You can take a hint from these celebrities who went big on the trend and aced it.

Orange is the new black

neon

Well… lately traffic cone neon is one of the most popular colours on Instagram. The hue definitely makes for good photos and can either be worn as a statement piece i.e a trouser or a top. Mehwish Hayat wore the vibrant shade from head to toe as she rocked this tangy ethnic Sania Maskatiya attire gracefully.

Flourescent green

This vivacious colour is everywhere from shoes, bags, clothes to sunnies. Flourescent green is undoubtedly the most intimidating shade in the neon palette and it usually sticks year around. Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor are a few names who pop in our minds when we think about head-to-toe green. If you aren’t that bold, you can always make a popping statement with bright shoes or a bag or just green eyeliner.

Hot pink

Pink is already every woman’s go-to colour, however, this Barbie doll shade isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Since hot pink doesn’t look appropriate for formal wear (you don’t want to look like candy floss at work), but you can always incorporate the colour with jewellery, bangles and shoes. However, hot pink is a beautiful shade to stand out at a wedding.

Popping yellow

This hue leaves the whole citrus spectrum behind. We won’t advise you to go for a monotone outfit in this vivacious shade unless it is a mehendi you’re attending. Neon yellow bags and shoes are big this season as they jazz up any pastel attire.
