Ayesha Malik, a young Pakistani woman took upon herself to call the Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra, out for her tweets during an escalation of the Pak-India conflict back in February.

Attending the BeautyCon event in Los Angeles, Priyanka Chopra was taking questions from the audience, and Malik made the most of the opportunity to address the tweets. She went on to call the actress a hypocrite for encouraging a nuclear war against Pakistan, especially as the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

In a video of the incident, Malik can clearly be heard saying, “it was kind of hard hearing you talk about humanity, because as your neighbor, a Pakistani, I know you’re a bit of a hypocrite.” The young woman continued her tirade until a couple of bulky members of security snatched her mic away.

“You are a UNICEF ambassador for peace and you’re encouraging nuclear war against Pakistan. There’s no winner in this,” Malik said. “As a Pakistani, millions of people like me have supported you in your business of Bollywood and you wanted nuclear war.”

After her microphone got taken away, Malik can be seen raisin her voice in an effort to be heard, which Priyanka Chopra proceeded to respond to in an especially condescending tone. “Whenever you’re done venting… got it, done? Okay, cool,” she said before responding to Malik.

I have many, many friends from Pakistan and I am from India, and war is not something that I am really fond of but I am patriotic,” Chopra said. “So, I’m sorry if I hurt sentiments to people who do love me and have loved me, but I think that all of us have a sort of middle ground that we all have to walk, just like you probably do as well.” She also asked Malik to ‘not yell’, and “We’re all here for love. Don’t yell. Don’t embarrass yourself. But we all walk that middle ground, but thank you for your enthusiasm and your question and your voice.”

After the video spread like wildfire on social media, garnering a huge amount of criticism at Priyanka’s response, Malik took to her twitter to confirm that she was, in fact, the girl in the video and wrote, “It was hard listening to her say, “we should be neighbors and love each other” — swing that advice over to your PM.”

The situation has continued to gain momentum since and Pakistani Twitter seems to have officially cancelled Priyanka Chopra.
