Manish Malhotra (Opening show)
Q: Kareena and Saif or Aishwarya Rai Bachchan…who was the better celebrity?
A: I would say that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor were simply stunning as Manish Malhotra’s showstoppers last year. The Bachchan bahu was incredible but she looks better in films. I think her hair colour was wrong (too blond) and she appeared a little too curvy bouncy on the runway. Kareena was a more fluid superstar model.
Monisha Jaising (October 6, show 2)
Q: Was anyone interested in what a designer had to show or say after seeing Aishwarya on the runway?
A: It was really unfair for anyone to have to follow Manish Malhotra’s show which was cast in epic proportions (with a record breaking 56 models on the stage). Monisha Jaising wasn’t bad at all; her western couture had a risque element that was put together very well despite being repetitive. But she could not hold anyone’s interest.
