The popularity of international streaming portals such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and ZEE5 have led Pakistan to venture into the digital business. Recently, a number of great web series and short films were produced that gained recognition for their unconventional and diverse content. Following the trend, Pakistan has now launched its first-ever Urdu OTT platform – UrduFlix.
Netflix’s unparalleled success has been a result of its decision to launch its own original content. UrduFlix aims to do the same in order to make a difference. The portal aims to promote the national language globally and bring forward a variety of content.
The platform recently released the first poster from its original web series Dhulan Aur 1 Raat featuring Alizeh Shah and Danial Afzal Khan.

Despite being in the industry for a while and being part of 2016’s horror film Aksbandh, Nomi from Raaz-e-Ulfat became Danial Afzal Khan’s breakthrough performance.
Speaking of his upcoming original series Dhulan Aur 1 Raat, he said it is a very well written mystery thriller for UrduFlix.
“The web series is about a one-night thriller about a bride and whatever events happen in the night. It has suspense, thrill, and a cinematic experience to it,” the actor shared in an exclusive chat with Something Haute.
Also, addressing the future of digital content in Pakistan, Danial feels that the market is already present. “Pakistan and Pakistanis are bingeing heavily on digital content and are running out of things to watch in their native language,” he said.
“We should watch and support our own original content and I promise you will enjoy the content because a lot of hard work is behind it to bring such things to you,” the actor added.
Co-star Alizeh Shah has also given some noteworthy performances on TV and has a massive following on social media. In fact, the Ehd e Wafa star was on Google’s list of top searched Pakistani celebrities.
