After taking off to a rocky and yet much talked about start last year, the Pakistan International Screen Awards (PISA) are all set to return with their second edition, marked as PISA’21. This year’s show is scheduled to take place at the glamorous Madinat Jumeirah venue, Dubai, on November 5, 2021.

“I’m delighted to confirm that the second edition of PISA will be held in Dubai on November 5, 2021, immediately after the UAE opens up to tourism,” Faisal Khan, CEO Mesmerize Events and Founder of the Pakistan International Screen Awards, said in a press statement. “We intend to make PISA an annual event, honouring our commitment to celebrating Pakistan’s top talent on an international platform.”

The platform was created last year, with a show that was underlined by controversy. Despite being very high profile, pulling all ropes from star power to a globally recognised venue (Coca Cola Arena), the event and experience fell prey to mismanagement and disorganisation. Organisers and the PISA PR machinery put it down to first-time teething problems, that they vow to amend this year round. Certainly not demotivated after the back-lash PISA’20 received, the organisers say that wish to improve and build a platform that is worthy of Pakistan’s talent.

“This past one year has been extremely challenging for the artist community and entertainment industries across the world, including Pakistan, who have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. We will be hosting a grand show, dedicated to those who worked tirelessly through this time, and we hope to set a tradition that will only elevate Pakistan further,” Faisal Khan stated further.

He assured that PISA’21 would be organised in strict adherence to Covid SOPs.
