Shoaib Mansoor is one of the most sought-after directors in our film industry with hits like Khuda Kay Liye and Bol to his credit. Even his last venture — Verna — got mixed response but it won critical acclaim for its daring subject. Landing a film with the ace director is a benchmark itself and the recent to get into this coveted position is one of Pakistan’s heartthrob, Emmad Irfani along with the actor with a Midas touch, Maya Ali.
Media reports have been circulating for almost a day now that Shoaib Mansoor has selected the leading pair for his next film and it is Emmad Irfani and Maya Ali. According to Samaa News, Maya has confirmed that her third film is going to be with Shoaib Mansoor. Moreover, in an exclusive chat with Something Haute, Emmad has confirmed the news as well.
“The news is authentic,” he said adding, “[It is an honor] well… to be a part of the next piece of puzzle by the maestro, Khuda Kay Liye, Bol, Verna and ABG. Not only is he [Shoaib Mansoor] colossal in his field but also a great human being. Just being in his presence is highly inspiring and I look forward to be working under his captaincy.”
Yes, ABG is perhaps an acronym for the title of the project and Emmad doesn’t want to reveal it right now.
Talking about the script and the character, Emmad is excited.
“This story needs to be told and my character’s narrative has got me all focused and determined to immerse myself to work as hard as never before,” he said.

Emmad has recently turned heads with his attention to detail when it comes to his characters. His role in drama serial Cheekh was loved by all and sundry; currently he is appearing in a little controversial role in Jalan. However, his debut film on Khilafat Movement titled Gawah Rehna is ready for release. Meanwhile, Maya has gone from strength to strength with back to back successful films like Teefa in Trouble and Parey Hut Love.
Well… we are definitely clueless about the genre of the film but we’re excited to see a new on-screen pairing under the direction of a creative genius like Shoaib Mansoor. Now we are only expecting great things!
