The trophy for Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) third edition was unveiled by the captains of each of the PSL franchises at a ceremony held in Dubai today. It was followed by a press conference addressed by PSL chairman Najam Sethi and captains Darren Sammy, Shoaib Malik, Imad Wasim, Brendon McCullum, Misbah-ul-Haq. and Sarfraz Ahmed.
The glittering trophy is sponsored by Swarovski and was flown-in on a chopper helicopter with the six leading men of the league. It was carried by defending champions Peshawar Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy.
Najam Sethi applauded Swarovski for crafting it and thanked the franchise owners for their trust and support.
“I just want to say that without these franchise owners, there would be no PSL. I want to express my gratitude to them for their enormous support in terms of the money and the effort that they’ve put into this brand,” he appreciated in the press conference before the trophy was unveiled.
A grand opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, February 22 on the same ground before the first match between defending champions Peshawar Zalmi and debutants Multan Sultans.
