Ahad Raza Mir and Mawra Hocane share intense chemistry in latest ‘Aangan’ teaser

Mawra

For all those who were left unsatisfied with the limited screen time given to Mawra Hocane in the previous teasers of Aangan, the latest clip released featuring the actor as Aaliya comes as an absolute treat. Aaliya is the protagonist of the story — a strong and focused girl — who keeps her dignity intact even in the most unfortunate of circumstances.

While the first teaser showed Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir’s chemistry as Chammi and Jamil, we now see Mawra’s character in the equation as well. Jamil is caught in an emotional scene with Aaliya where she rejects being in love with him, making us curious about the connection they share.

The intensity of the scene proves that Jamil might be more inclined towards Aaliya, in fact, and we cannot wait to see more of their on-screen chemistry. As for Sajal and Ahad, it seems like they both share their love for poetry. We enjoyed seeing Chammi delivering a few verses in the first teaser and this time around, we see Jamil reciting a poetic verse as well. Although, while Chammi’s verses were for Jamil, it seems Jamil turns poet for Aaliya.

However, Aangan is clearly not just a love story; it’s a patriotic tale. The clip also shows that there is a political divide within the house; half of the members endorse Congress, while the rest are Muslim League supporters.

As for Mawra, she not only looks gorgeous in every frame, but has yet again proved that she’s a good actor too! What we absolutely love about this play is how we will get to see her play a strong-headed character who is more than just tears.

The period play is based on the novel Aangan by Khadija Mastoor which is set in the 1940s. Directed by Mohammed Ehteshamuddin, the star-studded project also features Ahsan Khan and Sonya Hussyn among others.
