SRK’s next production ‘Bard of Blood’ is a Netflix web series based in Pakistan

Bard of Blood

Shah Rukh Khan just dropped the trailer of his Netflix production, Bard of Blood. The spy thriller web series starring Emraan Hashmi in the lead, is the first original developed by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies for the streaming giant.

Directed by Ribhu Dasgupta, the trailer of the spy thriller starts with a scene that shows Balochistan (Pakistan). An excommunicated RAW agent, Kabir Anand (Emraan Hashmi) along with an analyst, Isha Sengupta (Sobhita Dhulipala of Made in Heaven fame), and a sleeper agent, Veer Singh (Vineet Kumar Singh), take on a covert mission in Balochistan after four Indian spies are captured.

Emraan’s taciturn character is shown to be a literature professor in college, who in reality is a spy code-named Adonis. His mission soon turns south as Kabir had to face demons from his past. This will jeopardize their mission, risking lives of other people involved in it. The series is created by Bilal Siddiqi and Guarav Verma and is based on Bilal’s book published in 2015 by the same title.

To keep the audience hooked, SRK has been actively posting small videos featuring the actor interrogating Emraan Hashmi. The video shows the two in a dark interrogation room, where Emraan can be seen with his face covered. Khan is in his element to bring in a bit of humour for an otherwise serious series.

Bard of Blood will be showcased as a seven-episode series for Netflix subscribers around the world. The series will stream from September 27, 2019. Watch the action-packed trailer here:
