Hareem Farooq and Ali Rehman Khan starrer Heer Maan Ja is all ready to release this Eidul Azha, contesting with two other big budget movies at the box office. The two exude excellent chemistry on screen as we’ve seen previously in Parchi, Diyar-e-Dil and Main Khayal Hoon Kisi Aur Ka, so naturally, we can’t wait to see how they fare this time.

Something Haute sat down with the two to talk about their upcoming release and they had a lot of wise words to share about the industry; how it works, what they feel would and should work, as well as their own work ethic. Coming across as rather intellectually strong, the duo did not hesitate in answering tough questions about the nature of their movie, the competition that’s around, or even the so-called ‘Islamabadi lobby’ in the industry.

Talking about Heer Maan Ja’s appeal, Hareem seemed confident about her production. “It was a very conscious effort that we’re making this for the public. If I give you a present of my choice, you might or you might not like it, but if I give you something of your choice, you’d love it!”, she said.

Not shying away from addressing the competition at hand, she also tackled the questions about the other two releases in a dignified manner. “The other two films; I feel they’re quality films, they’re wonderful films, and they’re also backed by big channels. It’s a great thing. We still need to realize the importance of independent producers, and if not this year then maybe in five years. But right now, it’s a positive thing for the audience; they get a lot more flavor, they actually get to watch three quality films on Eid!” the actress said.

Both of them had a lot more wise words to share, and their chemistry off-screen is just as palpable as it is on-screen which is a treat. Watch the video here:
