The upcoming Pakistani series on Zee5 — Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam — is making us sit on the edge of our seats as the first teaser was more than enough to grab attention. If you had missed the dark and gritty motion poster, the teaser will definitely hit you hard by showing an unabashedly unapologetic side of women who are “ready to kill, but not to kneel”.

Zee5 released the teaser a few days ago with a tagline “it’s time to clear the way because the Qatil Haseenas are here to slay #borntokillnotkneel.”

The teaser reaffirms that society should not mistake a woman to be ordinary in anyway and redefines the age-old adage “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned”. It shows us glimpses of these diverse women shining in their characters, while making tough calls, standing up for their rights and taking their fate into their hands (quite literally). There is a lot of blood, gore and mysterious crimes that are seen in the teaser, but it is yet to be seen what instigates these women to take matters into their hands.

The song playing behind the teaser is quite catchy and replays in your head even when the 35-second clip ends. We can’t wait to hear the soundtrack of Qatil Haseenaon Ke Naam, meanwhile let’s wait impatiently for the trailer that will release on 18th November, 2021.

The series is headlined by powerhouse female performers like Samiya Mumtaz, Beo Raana Zafar, Faiza Gillani, Sarwat Gilani, Sanam Saeed, Mehar Bano and Eman Suleman. It also stars Ahsan Khan, Osman Khalid Butt and Sheheryar Munawar amongst others. It seems like these actors will be appearing in characters that we have never seen before on television or big screen in Pakistan.

According to an article in Deadline, the series emphasizes “the theme of female empowerment, the show focuses on the fearlessness of women and their determination to avenge deceit, whilst being set in ‘Androon Sheher’ [downtown] – a mythical neighbourhood. Themes of love, ambition, revenge and revolution will also be explored.”

Written by Farjad Nabi and Meenu Gaur, who have previously given Zinda Bhaag, QHKN is directed by Meenu Gaur and produced by Hasan Abidi and Shailja Kejriwal for ZEE5.
