It’s been a very busy three days for cinema. One, Cake the film released to rave reviews because yes, it’s just that good and everyone needs to watch it. Second, the Pakistan International Film Festival has gotten artists from all over the country, as well as from India, here in Karachi and the sessions as well as the gala evenings have been crowd pullers. Third, post PSL final, cricket lovers have been anticipating the West Indies T20 series in Karachi and it’s been a deliciously active time for life in Pakistan.

Frieha Altaf hosted a brief and yet well attended soiree at her gorgeous house yesterday. It began before the dinner hosted by Uzma and Jamil Baig for the PIFF delegates and continued at Frieha’s house after the dinner ended. Saturday night is always alive and kicking!
