Aik Hai Nigar

Another day and another achievement to celebrate. Nina Kashif and Mahira Khan’s production — Aik Hai Nigar — has bagged the Best Asian Film Award at the Septimius Awards held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Nina posted the big news on her Facebook page, followed by Stories on her Instagram. She thanked the writer of the telefilm, Umera Ahmed as well as their director Adnan Sarwar, ISPR and broadcaster ARY Digital.

“We are humbled and honoured,” she wrote. She also tagged the lead actors Mahira Khan, Bilal Ashraf and Khushhal Khan in the post and expressed her gratitude.

Aik Hai Nigar is a telefilm based on the life of Lieutenant General Nigar Johar, who made history by becoming the first female officer to be promoted to the rank of lieutenant general in the Pakistan Army. It is produced by Mahira’s production — Soul Fry Films — along with Nina Kashif.

The Septimius Awards were held on 6 and 7th of June 2022 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The Septimius Awards (formerly known as NVIFF) is a prestigious award ceremony, with a strong emphasis on discovering and encouraging new independent talent, supporting visionary films and bringing together all elements of film-making and storytelling, which includes fiction, non-fiction, animation, television series and scripts.
